They Humiliated Her on a Yacht and Threw Her into the Sea, Thinking She Was Just a Poor Waitress

— Oops, I accidentally spilled the wine — his mother said with an ironic smirk.

We got engaged not long ago, and from our first meeting, I felt his parents didn’t accept me at all. To them, I was just a girl from nowhere, a waitress from a cheap café who somehow ended up with their son. They didn’t hide their attitude, but that day they decided to show it in a particularly cruel way.

We sailed the yacht out into open sea. The sun was shining brightly, the water was calm, everything seemed perfect, but something unpleasant was brewing beneath this ‘perfect’ picture.

My future mother-in-law deliberately spilled wine directly on the deck. She did it slowly, demonstratively, so that absolutely everyone noticed.

— Darling, wipe it up, please — she said, not even bothering to look at me.

— I can ask someone from the crew — I replied calmly.

Then she turned towards me and said with no hint of a smile: — You are the crew on my yacht. Do as I say.

I looked her straight in the eyes. — This is not your yacht. It was only rented by you. And I will not wipe anything.

FOR A MOMENT, THERE WAS COMPLETE SILENCE.

For a moment, there was complete silence. I saw her face harden as anger boiled inside her. She wasn’t used to anyone daring to defy her.

I was standing right at the edge when suddenly everything happened quickly. A strong shove in the back — and suddenly the ground beneath my feet vanished. I plunged straight into the open water.

The icy water immediately paralyzed my body. I went under, momentarily losing my breath. When I managed to resurface, the yacht was already some distance away, and they were standing by the rail, looking down at me.

I tried to keep afloat with the last of my strength. Panic gripped my throat, and my hands started to tremble from the cold and fear.

— Help me… — I tried to shout, but my voice completely failed me.

In response, all I heard was their mocking laughter.

I looked up and saw him. My fiancé. He simply took off his sunglasses and watched me as if I were a complete stranger, making no move to save me.

In that moment, I realized it was time to reveal the truth: these people needed to know who I really am and what I’m capable of, and they would pay dearly for everything.

I JUST DECIDED THEY NEEDED TO KNOW THE FACTS.

I just decided they needed to know the facts.

A few minutes later, people from a nearby boat pulled me out. I sat there soaked to the bone and shivering from the cold, but inside I was completely composed. Only one thought burned in my mind.

I pulled out my phone and made a short call.

— Initiate the procedure. Put everything up for sale. No exceptions.

No one on the other end asked unnecessary questions.

When the yacht finally docked at the port, they were already waiting for me. The confidence they had on their faces quickly began to fade when they saw me standing before them — not as a victim, but as a person emanating icy calm.

— You… what have you done? — his father asked, his voice trembling much more than before.

I looked at them one by one.

? FOR A LONG TIME, I PROTECTED YOU.

— For a long time, I protected you. All your debts, all the loans and problems… it all held together only because I didn’t allow it to collapse.

They looked at each other in disbelief. I took a step towards them.

— The bank where your entire estate is mortgaged belongs to me.

The silence that ensued became almost tangible and heavy.

— You thought I was nobody. That you could humiliate, push, and mock me.

I slightly tilted my head.

— But at this moment, everything you own is already being sold.

His mother’s face turned deathly pale.

? WAIT… WE DIDN’T KNOW… — SHE BEGAN UNCERTAINLY.

— Wait… we didn’t know… — she began uncertainly.

— Of course, you didn’t know — I cut her off shortly. — Because you never even tried to find out.

They all started talking at once, pleading and trying to justify themselves, but I was no longer listening.

My fiancé stood somewhat aside. He was silent just as he had been when I was drowning.

I looked at him one last time.

— You made your decision back there, in the open sea.

I turned on my heel and walked away, leaving them in silence, where there was no longer room for laughter or pride.
